All people have problems. Some people have a lot of problems, Others have one or two. And no matter how old you are, you will still face difficulties in your life. We can solve some problems but some problems are very hard to solve.

There are a lot of teenagers in our country. A teenager is a person from thirteen to nineteen years of age. And young people here face as many difficulties as grown-up people do.

There are problems, which are common for all young people. These are spending your free time, choosing a good friend, how to deal with your parents and the classmates, finding your place in this world, first love and relations with beloved, choosing where to study after finishing school, alcohol and drugs.

I'm fourteen so I belong to the group of Russian teenagers. One of the most important problems is "a generation gap" - the problem of fathers and sons. Teens usually want to be independent and show this to our parents. And this is kind of depressing when our parents try to control everything we do. Our parents usually do not understand the clothes that we wear and the music that we listen to. We have different tastes. For example, when I go to the shop with my mom she likes these jeans but I like those ones. She pays and this is often difficult to convince her that this is really what I need. My parents want me to become a doctor as they are skilled teachers but I have a taste for economics, and my dream is to be an accountant. But they say they know better. They often treat us like small children. And this is rather difficult to start listening to each other and understanding each other. Some teens even begin drinking alcohol or smoking just to show that they are grown-ups. That is really stupid, I must say. I do not like smoking. You must have to be a grown-up inside and a cigarette or a bottle of beer will not help here. This will not help you look cool. These bad habits cause health problems in future (for girls especially).

It is a problem to get a good education as well. It is expensive to get a good education nowadays. I think it is difficult to learn a subject well, for example, without additional classes. And you can not enter a university without good knowledge.

As for the problem of friendship, I always remember a good proverb, "A friend in need is a friend indeed." I like this one because it shows what a true friend must be. I like honest people. And, of course, I want to have a friend who will always listen to me and understand me. I want him or her to support me in difficult situations. If a teen has bad relations with others he tries to find a group to follow for example - goths, emos and others. They try piercing and tattoos.

One of the most serious problems nowadays is taking drugs and AIDS (the disease when the immune system of your body stops working).

The problem of free time is also very important. Where to go, what to do in free time. Every teen must find a hobby or just go in for sports. Not just wander in the street without an aim. We must not forget that it's good to go to museums, theatres, cinemas and parks even if it is not popular.

There is also a problem of having extra (pocket) money to go out with friends, to make presents to your friends, to buy clothes that you really like. So youth has to earn money - wash cars, sell or deliver newspapers, help old people or work as waiters or waitresses

We have some problems but we are sure that we solve them properly. We make mistakes but only those who do nothing make no mistakes. I think that the young people in other countries have such problems too. The best way to solve them is to be yourself and be responsible for your life.

It has never been easy to be a teenager. I believe that the teenage period is the most important one in our life. It is the time when we receive our education and try to learn the right from the wrong.

Teenage hormones make young people more sensitive and emotional than usual. They feel quite miserable, hurt and rejected when they split up with their friends. Young boys and girls often suffer from depressions. Moreover, they constantly have serious arguments with their overprotective parents who try to control everything their children do and do not allow everything they want. Strong parents 'pressure to do well in school can also be really annoying for teens.

Teens often face a lot of problems in their relations with parents, teachers and friends. Sometimes they are teased or bullied by their elder brothers or other peers. They also need to be free and independent, so they can feel ashamed while going shopping with their mothers, for example. Some young people get jealous when their friends own a more expensive smart-phone model or a more fashionable piece of clothes.

There are young people who join teenage groups or gangs in order to express their individuality, to increase their self-esteem and to feel accepted and secure. However some subcultures are quite aggressive and opposed to the normal standards in our society. In many gangs teens start using drugs or alcoholic drinks and committing crimes.

One of the main problems among teenage girls is their worry about the body image. They compare themselves with other beautiful and fit girls in their class or even some celebrities and they strongly wish to look like them. This unhealthy self-esteem leads to serious eating disorders and such illnesses as anorexia and bulimia. Girls refuse to eat food in order to change their body shape and to become skinny and then gradually they can not eat at all.

Most teenagers do not know how to cope with their problems because they do not feel like sharing their emotions and discussing them with their parents or friends. Young people are usually afraid of disapproval and misunderstanding. In this case it may be useful to consult a professional psychologist who can offer some good advice and probably give a helping hand.

The Problems of the Teenagers. Kate Titarenko, secondary school №4 p. Karymskoe, Grade 9.

Introduction

The topic of my work is " The problems of modern teenagers”.
The life of a teenager can be complicated sometimes. It is a difficult age and there are many problems on the way of becoming adults. For example, the choice of free-time activities, parent-child misunderstanding, the choice of future profession, dealing with the first love and so on. All teenagers have their own views on their life and future. They often stay alone with their thoughts because nobody seems to understand them. In this situation it's better to talk to someone who is more experienced in life matters. One of the most common problems is the misunderstanding between teens and their parents. It has always been a problem but each generation becomes more difficult than the previous. Teenagers think that they are old enough to have their own opinion, while their parents do not take their opinion into account. It is not right. Adults should try to give more attention to their children especially at such a difficult age. Teenagers also need more freedom of choice and less pressure. They are the future of our country and a lot depends on what kind of people they will become. The problem of drug is also actual at this age. Many teenagers suffer from drug addiction. It often leads to health problems and serious consequences. Other issues include smoking and drinking alcohol. Clearly there are a lot of problems in teenagers 'lives. That's why I think this topic is very important and interesting to study nowadays.
The aim of the research is to define some of the teenage problems and to find out what problems do the teenagers of our school and my friends in the Internet face.

The object of the research is the young people aged 14-17
The subject of our work is - the problems of the modern youth. According to the aim we put the following problems:
- to describe some of the problems that teenagers have;
- to examine the teenagers of our school about some of the problems;
- to interview the young people in the Internet about the difficulties they have.

The Problems of the Teenagers. Kate Titarenko, secondary school №4 p. Karymskoe, Grade 9.

Methodology

To come to the aim of our research work we use the following methods:

1. The studying of literary souses on this topic.

2. The studying of Internet resouses on this topic.

3. The interview of the classmates.

4. The interview of people in the Internet.

The Problems of the Teenagers. Kate Titarenko, secondary school №4 p. Karymskoe, Grade 9.

Body of the research

There are a lot of teenagers in our country. A teenager is a person from thirteen to nineteen years of age. And young people face as many difficulties as grown-up people do.

Problems that teenagers are faced with today can take so many forms. Even in stable, solid family units, teenagers will face confusion and uncertainty with themselves and life.
Common teenager problems include : conflicts with parents, bad habits, bullying, first love, computer and TV addiction.

Let "s examine each of these problems.

Conflicts with parents.

Most typical problems for teenagers are conflicts with adults. During the teen years children often try to gain independence from their parents. They may push limits, break rules and overstep boundaries. It has always been a problem but each generation becomes more difficult than the previous this fact can be called "a generation gap" - the problem of fathers and sons. Teens usually want to be independent and show this to our parents. And this is kind of depressing when our parents try to control everything we do. Our parents usually do not understand the clothes that we wear and the music that we listen to. We have different tastes. Teenagers think that they are old enough to have their own opinion, while their parents do not take their opinion into account. It is not right. Adults should try to give more attention to their children especially at such a difficult age.

Bad habits.
Many young teenagers begin to smoke and drink alcohol at the age of thirteen or fourteen. They do it because they want to look cool in the eyes of their mates. The problem of drug is also actual at this age. Many teenagers suffer from drug addiction. It often leads to health problems and serious consequences. Other issues include smoking and drinking alcohol.

The Problems of the Teenagers. Kate Titarenko, secondary school №4 p. Karymskoe, Grade 9.

Bullying.
Every day thousands of teens wake up afraid of going to school. Bullying is a problem that affects millions of students. They often stay alone with their thoughts because nobody seems to understand them. In this situation it's better to talk to someone who is more experienced in life matters. The word "bullying" covers different situations. Name calling, stealing, abuse of any kind are the forms of bullying. There is a clear definition of bullying; "It is an attempt to hurt, threaten of frighten someone."
Abuse, stealing, threatening and blackmail are all forms of bullying. Racism can be called bullying. Making someone feel not good or less good about themselves is bullying.
A bully is a person who physically or verbally hurts someone. A bully can be boy, a girl, a man or woman. A bully usually picks on people who can not defend themselves.
Bullying is wrong and is anyone is bullying they should get punished.
The victims should talk to someone about how they feel after the bullying. Bullying must spoken about. Teenagers and adults should try to prevent bullying. Prevention is better than cure. Nowadays many teenagers use Childline just to have someone to talk about their problems, a person who will listen to and will not criticize.

First love.

Teenagers often meet their first love. It is a wonderful time for them and one of the best stages of life. This event stays in one's memory forever. Unfortunately, the first love can have unhappy endings. It leads to problems in communication even with the best friends.

Computer and TV addiction.

Computer addicts are the minority of computer users but there is no doubt that more and more young people are depending on their computer. Today most of young people have TV-sets as well as computers with permanent Internet connection in their bedrooms. Therefore, despite the fact that a lot of TV programmes are inappropriate for teens they watch them because few parents actually check up what their children watch. So, programmes containing offensive language, scenes of violence and loud screeches influence teens badly. It is really difficult for

The Problems of the Teenagers. Kate Titarenko, secondary school №4 p. Karymskoe, Grade 9.

children to determine the difference between the reality and the fantasy. Hence, they start imitating the violent behaviour they see in their favourite programmes.

Being independent. Are you expected to make choices? Do your parents encourage you to be independent in your everyday life? American parents do. They believe strongly that a person should have the freedom to decide what should be done today and in the future. Parents encourage their children from an early age to be independent, to be responsible, to respect their society and their country, to work hard and to believe in God.
Very often even small children decide themselves how o decorate their bedrooms or what toys to play with. Teenagers have lots of choices to make: at school they choose between sports or music, French or German, economic or social studies. They choose who their friends are and how to earn their pocket money, for

example by babysitting or carrying newspapers. They also choose how to spend the money that they have earned: buying computer games, travelling or just going to a disco.
Parents and teachers are always ready to help the teenagers with their decisions. But it's very important to be independent and to believe in yourself.

Conclusion

We did the research to find out what problems do teenagers of modern time have.
Our work proved that the young people have different problems beginning with choosing a good friend and ending with drug usage.

We proved that we have some problems but we are sure that we will be able to solve them properly. I think that the young people in other countries have such problems too. The best way to solve them is to be yourself and be responsible for your life.
As you see it's very difficult to be young nowadays as indeed it always was. But you only can be young ones and some wonderful things can happen to you only when you're young. So it's better to enjoy youth while it lasts.

Introduction

We live in the world of problems. Life is impossible without them. There are a lot of problems that people have to face and try to cope with. But I would like to tell about youth problems. There are a lot of them that a young person has to face when he or she stops being a child.

Adults think that it is very easy to be a teenager, but this is not true. Nowadays there are a lot of different things that young people want to try. They are cigarettes, alcohol, drugs and it is not so easy to manage them, especially for teenagers. Most teenagers try such things because their friends do and if they do not, they are not considered to be cool. Some young people take drugs or drink alcohol because they are bored and they have nothing to do. Some of them do because their life is terrible and they can not manage it.

To my mind, the most dangerous of youth problems are drug and alcohol addiction, AIDS and a frightening increase of the suicides among young people. Teenagers are often involved in different crimes: robbery, vandalism, drug sale.

Besides, there are many other problems: poor relationship with parents, problems of friendship and love, getting education and choosing a career, youth unemployment and the problem of earning money and so on.

We can name youth problems endlessly. But let's see some of their reasons and try to give advice how to solve them.

Youth Problems

§1. Smoking

You'd have to be living on Mars not to know that smoking is dangerous. Yet statistics show that young people today smoke more, not less. Why? One answer is that many teens think it cool. Another is the great sums of money invested in advertising cigarettes. Tobacco companies spend millions to encourage the young to start, or to continue, smoking.

The statistics is such:

Over 90% of all smokers start before they are 18.

The average age for a new smoker is 13.

Smoking kills about 3 million people every year.

A smoker is 22 times more likely to die of lung cancer than a non-smoker.

Smoking causes heart attacks, bronchitis, asthma and other diseases.

Nicotine is as addictive as heroin or cocaine. Seven out of 10 smokers want to quit, but can not. Nicotine is not the only bad thing in cigarettes, there are over 400 chemicals in one cigarette that are known to be very destructive.

§2. Drug Addiction

Drug addiction is the plague of our time. So many young people are addicted to drugs. The danger of drugs is a vital problem in our society. Drug addicts ruin their health and degrade morally. With every day they need more and more drugs. To get the stuff and the money for it they do not stop at any crime. They begin to steal, to rob and to burgle. In a state of ecstasy they may ever kill people. And sometimes even for a hundred rubles. It's awful, but explainable.

Drugs ruin human organs and affect the brain very badly, even dramatically. Drugmen degrade mentally and do not live long. Usually they die of an overdose. So drug taking is a sure way to an early grave. Why is there such a terrible disease in our society at present?

There are different causes of it: the distortion of the eternal conceptions of right and wrong, low cultural standards, social injustice. But I'm sure the root cause is some young people's inability to cope with life difficulties. That's why drug-users and alcoholics want to go away from reality and to get a state of euphoria. They do not realize that intoxicants ruin their lives and they turn into desperate good-for-nothing creatures.

Sometimes teens may be involved in a bad company and they become drug addicts. So young people must have strong will-power and common sense not to give in to pals 'negative influence. To have a drug-addict son or daughter is a tragedy for the family. Parents suffer most of all.

To my mind, it's wrong to give drug-users up. On the contrary, we all should give them a helping hand, because without it they are inevitably lost to society. I think drug-abuse is not an individual problem, it's a social vice.

§3. Teenagers 'Extreme is Committing Suicides

As far as I know, in recent decades the number of suicidal teens has increased. Young people can not bear the difficulties and pressures of modern life and choose the fatal end.

Here are some circumstances of committing suicides: broken families, indifference of parents, the availability of drugs and alcohol and sometimes psychical disorders. Drug and alcohol abuse is tragically destructive. They ruin youngsters 'health, produce insensibility, apathy, frustration. All human values lose their significance. Naturally, it may lead to crime and suicide.

To prevent the trouble parents and teachers must be more attentive and well-wishing to children, to their souls and hearts, as total negligence and excessive severity throw the young in the abyss.

§4. AIDS Cases among the Young

AIDS is Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. It is caused by a virus that weakens people so much that they become sick. The name of the virus is HIV - Human Immunodeficiency Virus. AIDS is a global epidemic. It spreads disastrously. No cure has been found as yet.

Drug-users belong to the so-called high risk-group for catching AIDS. They help to spread AIDS through dirty syringes. Moreover, AIDS spreads through sexual contact, from an infected mother to her child.

So AIDS is a world problem. That's why associations for combating AIDS have been founded in many countries. But I consider defence against the plague of the twentieth century depends on all of us. We must take responsibility for our actions, for our health, for our life, because after all, AIDS does not care about our dreams for the future.

§5. Generation Gap

Many people say that generation gap is an eternal problem and most parents have to deal with it when their children become teenagers. Is it really so? Let's see the problem from the parents 'and teenagers' point of view.

As for parents, many of them are sure that there is a period when their children do not pay attention to what adults say. Children want to do only what they like. They often do not obey their parents, begin to study worse, spend more time out-of-doors, and make friends with boys and girls who influence them badly. They are fond of awful music and wear terrible clothes they consider fashionable. They do not follow their parents 'advice.

As far as teenagers say, their parents do not want to understand them. They do not approve of youth's clothes and dislike their tastes in music. Parents want their children to follow their model of life and forget that every generation is different from another and has its own values. They do not notice that a teenager is not a child and has his own ideas of future life.

I think it is possible to solve this problem. Of course, parents have better life experience and do not want their children to repeat their own mistakes, but both parents and their children should understand and respect each other. Parents should have confidence in their children and a lot of patience. Children should not forget that parents are the people who will always support them.

To sum up, in families where there is comprehension and love between their members there is no generation gap.

§6. The Problems of Friendship and the First Love

Young people have many problems of emotional and personal character which may look silly and unimportant in the eyes of grown-ups but appear to be extremely important to the young. They are the problems of friendship and loneliness, as well as the problem of the first love.

Youth is the time when a person is vulnerable to opinions of different people, especially to the opinions of his peer group. So for many youngsters it is very difficult to choose true friends. The proverb says: "A friend in need is a friend indeed". I agree with it, that's why I try to make friends with persons whom I can trust and rely on. To my mind, faithful friends are always ready to help you in difficult situations and never betray you.

Another problem is the problem of love and dating. Some parents are democratic in this respect, and allow their children considerable freedom in their relations with the opposite sex. Others are overprotective and forbid their teenage children to go out with people they like. In my opinion, it can result in many psychological problems as overanxious parents prevent their children from getting an experience of communicating with representatives of the opposite sex, and this can lead to serious family problems later.

§7. Choosing a Career and Youth Unemployment

Probably one of the most vital problems of young generation is choosing a career. It is really difficult and important as well. One thing that makes it so difficult is the responsibility you have to take on. It is widely known that your future life depends on the choice made early in life when your personal experience is not so great. Sometimes you may even be not quite certain about the field of knowledgeyou are interested in. The second reason is that to make this choice you have to get some idea of the labour market and job opportunities. Third, there are parents who usually have their own idea of your future career and, in many cases, try to make their child choose the career path they prefer.

Moreover, unemployment is one of the most fundamental problems faced by young people. Nowadays young generation has certain needs and aspirations. But because of the universal downturn in the economy combined with technology when particular jobs and skills are made obsolete, many youths today are experiencing problems in obtaining jobs. Unemployment means financial worries, frustration and discouragement. To solve the problem of unemployment, young people should strive for higher education. Then they would be qualified for skilled labour required by industrialized society.

Conclusion

Thus, youth is a period of life which is of utmost importance in the life of man. First, man's entire life is rooted in his early years. The morals and beliefs, range of interests, education, health and habits are all laid in childhood and youth, the personality is shaped. Second, youth is a time when a person is trying to find his place in the world. This period is usually associated with problems: young people 'struggle' to fit themselves into society. Difficult decisions and adjustments face young people in today's society.

In my opinion, young people have even more problems than adults. Most of them want to enjoy life, be independent and be taken seriously. Teenagers often want to express their individuality or earn money but they do not know how to do it. Some of them start to rebel against the society and reject everything. It causes violence and cruelty. There are many young people who have drug addiction and drinking problems. Personally, I think it happens because they get depressed and upset when they can not solve their problems.

To my mind, adults must help teenagers to overcome difficulties. Parents should not be too busy and indifferent to their children's problems. Grown-ups should create the atmosphere of love, care, understanding and respect in their families.

At the same time, teenagers have to decide what they want to have in future. Being young, you should think of what you can do to change the world to the best.
